Accessible to hikers and bikers.
From May 1 the cycle and walk Terres Tunnel is reopened. After the closure because of an important maintenance work on a lighting system, this tunnel, that from the Contà village goes to the Tovel valley, is reopened.
This tunnel was built from 2003 to 2004 as a natural irrigation and firefighting channel to replace the old aqueduct "LEZ", which since 1800 brought water from the Tovel valley to Terres and the neighboring villages. Today, disused for irrigation, the Terres Tunnel has a new hiking and biking use as a part of the Dolomiti di Brenta Bike and Dolomiti di Brenta Trek routes.
It offers a safe connection, easy and fast with the Tovel valley, as an alternative to more difficult paths as the "LEZ di Terres" route (a mountain trail) or the "Fabbrica" descent.
The tunnel will open to October 30.
